The new blog design is looking good.
Comments are a great addition, though it's a pity Google make you jump through hoops to post them.
Moving the life stories etc to separate pages is great too.
Two comments:
Firstly I persolally prefer a wider layout, if that is an option, but that's just an opinion and I know some people do like a very narrow content column.
Secondly the header photo doesn't reach the full width of the design, and the header text touches the left edge of it.
Other than those two minor comments it's looking good, well done! :-D
