Concrete Mixer

My mom got me what I REALLY wanted for Christmas!

Sending this 200 pound monster across the 300 foot ravine while suspended 200 feet in the air by a cable the diameter of a pencil made me a bit nervous.

In the background are the bags full of sand and gravel for mixing later.

We fired it up the other day and made our first batch of concrete, WOW! , much easier and quicker than the hand mixing of the last two years.

Thanks mom.

Orange Wine

This time of year, the wind does the work for you...every few days we take a backpack and fill it up again!

We eat and cook with the best and brew the rest!!

New Retaining Walls

We built two new retaining walls from milled Criptomeria planks, anchored by Eucyliptus posts.

This new gardening space will provide twice the space as last year!

The stone walls are beautiful, but time and muscle aches dictate otherwise.

Sun Powered Sewing

Konswan made us some lovely curtains to keep out the winter chill.

The sewing machine made a lovely debut after being stored for several years and then being shipped across the Atlantic and stuck in a damp corner for another year!

Thanks to our lovely inverter from our "friends from Norn" we have USA electricity now!

The two solar panels we bought last summer are doing great when the sun can push through the clouds.
